Allow Requests for Teams

Overview

One of the ways to find people who may have the skills to fulfill a need on a newly formed or existing team is to allow colleagues to express interest in joining your team.

How to Allow Requests

To open your team up for expressions of interest to join the team, do the following:

  1. Make sure your team is visible to your organization.

  2. Click the ‘Allow Requests’ button.

  3. A dialogue box will appear that confirms you want to allow colleagues to express their interest in being a part of the team. Click the checkbox if you want to notify everyone in your organization of the opportunity. This option only notifies people who are on the platform with an email, and a link to the team so that they can learn more.

What happens next?

As soon as you ‘Allow Requests’ for a team, a button becomes available on the team page with the label, ‘I’m Interested’. Anyone in the organization with which the team is affiliated can click that button to indicate their interest in joining the team, and in the case of Managed Teams, team managers will be notified. In the case of an Open team, everyone is notified.

Once you receive the notification, you will be able to reply directly to that person from whatever email client you are using. You will still need to add that person to your team if it seems like they are a good fit for one or more roles on your team.
