Assessing Another Person’s Skills for a Job

Finding the person’s job in order to rate skills

When another person adds you as an ‘observer’ for a job that they have connected to their profile, you will receive an email notification as well as a notification in the system that you’ve been invited to rate their skills. There are three ways you can respond to these notifications:

  1. Click the link in the email you’ve received, which will take you right to the individual’s job

  2. Click the notification in your notifications menu to rate skills from that menu

  3. Visit the ‘Observing’ section under the Roles tab of your Skill Profile, where all the people for whom you’ve been invited to rate skills will be listed.

Assessing skills for another person’s job

When you respond to the email notification or visit the person’s job from your Roles tab, you’ll be taken to a window where you can rate that person’s skills for the job they’ve connected to their profile. In that window:

  1. Open the skills drawer for the job.

  2. Click on each of the question marks for the skills you’ve been asked to rate.

  3. Choose a point value on the rating scale.

What if I want to change my assessment for someone’s job-related skills?

No problem! You can change your rating at any time. However, if you are performing this process as a manager in an organization, we encourage you to follow any additional guidance your organization has provided around rating skills.

Will the person see my skill assessments attributed to me?

No. Ibbaka Talent uses a metric called SkillRank as a kind of weighted average of the multiple ratings you may receive for any given skill. SkillRank does not become visible to you or anyone else in your organization until three or more ratings have been provided for any given skill. To learn more about SkillRank, please visit our FAQ, and scroll to the section titled, ‘About SkillRank’.
