Four types of models are supported on Ibbaka: Value Models, Pricing Models, Sustainability or ESG models and Cost models.

By using models, you make your assumptions clear, build connections between value, price and cost, and show how your solution contributes to sustainability and ESG (Environment, Social and Governance).

Value Models

  • A value model is a system of equations built from value drivers that estimate how much value a solution will provide to a customer or set of customers (market segment).

    Ibbaka Valio provides a software platform for the development, management and use of value models.

  • A value story is an interactive presentation that is used to present a value model to a customer. It combines a sales presentation with interactive value driver calculators, and share data back and forth with the value model. The same value model can support multiple value stories.

    Value stories for Sustainability and ESG models are also supported.

    Pricing can optionally be included in the Value Story.

  • A pricing Model is a method for deciding what prices to charge for a company's products or services.

    We take a design thinking approach to the design of pricing models. This means that we follow a process that begins by understanding the company's strategic goals and how pricing is meant to support those goals. A Pricing Model should be:

    1 . Connected to value
    2. Scalable so that it can be with your customers
    3. Extensible so that new functions can be added
    4. Fair in the eyes of buyers
    5. Observable so that it can be tracked and improved

    Implementing your pricing model on Valio supports all five of these goals.

  • These models quantify the non-economic aspects of value. They measure the impact of sustainability measures like Greenhouse Gas Emissions, water consumption, or energy consumption. They can also be used to quantify health outcomes like patient experience, Quality Adjusted Life Years (QALY) or social impacts such as diversity, poverty and so on.

    Sustainability models are often used as inputs into the economic value model.

  • Cost Models are used to estimate the cost of implementing a solution for the seller. In most cases it is not a direct input into the pricing model, but it can be used to establish a floor.

  • Part of the power of Valio is that it gives you a place to manage the variables that are shared across these different models and that build connections between them.

    This allows you to build real connections between value and price and to ensure that costs are taken into account when pricing.

  • A use case configuration is a way to define a configuration for a specific use case for a product or solution. This functionality makes it possible to tailor configurations, value and pricing to specific customer situations.
