Role & Skill Coverage - Skill Surveys
Getting Started
Skill surveys on Ibbaka Talio have been designed to help you survey your workforce to understand whether or not any one individual has the skills needed to fulfill one or more roles in a competency model. We created this feature to ensure that leaders and managers can rest assured they are always working with complete and up-to-date data when analyzing role coverage and skill gaps for any one set of roles.
You must create at least one or more roles in a competency model in order to use the feature.
Step 1: Creating a Survey
You must already be in the Role and Skill Coverage module in order to create a skill survey.
Choose the competency model for which you wish to create a skill survey
Enter the role and skill coverage module
Scroll down and go to the Skill Survey’s tab underneath the role coverage matrix.
Click the orange plus button, name the survey, then add an introduction.
Note that the introduction to your survey will be displayed at the very beginning of the survey for everyone who participates. Treat this as an opportunity to set context. This could include the purpose of the survey, the end goal and expectations for when people should complete the survey.Click, ‘Create Survey’
Step 2: Add Skills
Once any skill survey is selected, you’ll be able to add skills from the skill insights tab.
To do this:
Click the skill insights tab.
Select the drawer from which you wish to add skills - strengths, gaps or data gaps. You’ll need to add skills from each drawer before you move on to the next.
Click the three dots menu in the upper right hand corner of the drawer.
Select ‘Add to Skill Survey’
Skills you’ve selected will be added to the currently selected skill survey. If you find this menu item ‘greyed out’, it means you do not currently have a skill survey selected to which you can add skills. The skills will be added to your survey.
Step 3: Add People to Survey
There are three options for selecting who should take the skill survey:
New Accounts: Automatic delivery to every new person creating an account in Ibbaka Talio. The survey will be delivered during the onboarding process, and can be completed anytime thereafter.
By Tag(s): Automatic delivery to everyone who is tagged in a particular group (e.g., by location, by function, etc). Note that you can combine this option with automatic delivery for people.
By individual: You can select individual people to select by clicking the orange button next to the people listed in the skill survey panel, or search for anyone to add to the survey in the search field.
Step 4: Launch the survey
Once you’ve added skills to the survey and added at least one or more options for selecting individuals who should take the survey, you can click ‘Start Survey’. Ibbaka Talio monitors survey completion rates with a % indicator next to the names of everyone included.
