Invite Others to Assess Skills for a Job (Adding Observers)

You can add one or more people to rate your level of skill for the must-have skills that are part of a job that you have connected to your profile. They will also have the ability to rate any other skills that you’ve accepted as part of your job from suggested skills.

Add an Observer to Assess Skills in Your Job

  1. Navigate to the Roles tab on your Skill Profile, and click on the job under ‘Jobs’.

  2. Scroll down and click the arrow to open the drawer that says ‘Stakeholders’. You will see a field labelled ‘observers’.

  3. Begin typing the name of the person in your organization from whom you wish to receive feedback. This could be your manager, a peer, or an expert in your field whose opinion you value.

  4. Select the person when they show up in your search results. NOTE: It’s important to check with your manager and or your organization for any business rules around how to use this feature. Some organizations prefer that you only add your manager.

What happens next when I add someone to asssess my skills for a job?

Three things happen when you add someone to rate your skills for a job:

  1. The manager or person you’ve invited will receive an email notification with a link directly to your job.

  2. A notification is generated in the system that you have invited this person to rate your skills.

  3. The person whom you have invited to rate your skills will now see you listed under their Roles tab, in the section called ‘Observing’.

Can I see the skill assessment others provide about skills for a job?

No, the ratings of any one individual are not visible to you through your skill profile.
