How would you learn about pricing and customer value management?

Jessie Tai is a Consultant at Ibbaka. See her Skill Profile on Ibbaka Talent.

Over the last several years, Ibbaka has been fortunate enough to work with innovative customers who are pushing the boundaries on how to integrate value-based pricing with the customer journey. This is leading to a new approach to customer value management that focuses on how value is created, communicated, delivered and documented across the customer journey.

With this work, not only have we been solving key pains for companies, but also noticing patterns across the different projects. Specifically, there is a knowledge gap on the foundational pricing and customer value concepts and how to apply them. Ibbaka generally conducts knowledge transfer sessions with our customers as part of our work, but this got us thinking on how we can do more to help.

Ibbaka has led workshops, seminars, talks and a micro-lesson course, and now we are interested in building an online course, complete with tools and performance support, that will help to activate and embed value based pricing and customer value management. This will be open to anyone as we hope to build a community of informed practitioners around customer value management.

Our goal is to provide bite-sized content together with the tools and support needed to execute. We want this course to be digestible, fun and accessible. We want to hear from you, the community about

  • What do you look for in an online course?

  • What are your pain points? How do you like to learn?

  • What brings you joy in your work?

If you have a few minutes we’d love to hear your insights!

Three survey participants will win free registration to our new online course.

More on pricing

When we talk about pricing, we specifically focus on value-based pricing and the basic framework. Pricing can seem like a vast and complicated topic but highlighting value-based pricing is our speciality. This includes understanding the basics of the value cycle, metrics, value drivers, and differentiation. These are all topics we wish to cover in our online course. In the meantime, you can read more at What is value based pricing?.

More on customer value management

Customer value is central to value-based pricing. Most organizations struggle to understand how they provide value to their customers. Customer value management is the collection of this. Topics include personas, customer touch points, customer journey map and value drivers. Customer value management is still a relatively new term and we hope to build the space and enable better learning. You can read more in this blog post Your customer journey is your guide to pricing communication.
